Oman receives Madha industrial city tender prices

The tender was issued by the Public Establishment of Industrial Estates, also known as Madayn

Oman's Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn) has received prices from companies for a contract to develop the detailed masterplan and design for Madha industrial city in the Muscat governorate.

The tender was issued on 15 February and the deadline for bid submissions was 25 March.

According to a report by London-headquartered data analytics firm GlobalData, the output from Oman's construction industry is expected to register annual growth of 4.2% from 2025 to 2027, supported by investments in economic zones, renewable energy, manufacturing, and tourism projects under the Vision 2040 project.

As part of this vision, the government aims to increase the number of industrial cities and related manufacturing zones in the country from 12 in 2023 to 16 by 2040.

The industrial construction sector is expected to expand by 2% in 2023, supported by the rising FDI and improvement in manufacturing activities and industrial investments. Over the remainder of the forecast period, the sector is expected to register an annual average growth of 4.1% during 2024-27, supported by the developments of industrial cities projects, along with investment in the manufacturing sector and support towards small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
