

Abu Dhabi-based construction firm A&M International has won a AED750m ($204m) contract to build the next phases of the Hayyan residential community in Sharjah.
The contract was awarded by Sharjah-based real estate developer Alef Group.
The scope includes the construction of more than 700 villas and townhouses across three clusters – Samr 1, Samr 2 and Deem – along with Hayyan Mall, a clubhouse and associated infrastructure works.
The Hayyan masterplan includes seven residential clusters: Alma, Arim 1, Arim 2, Arim 3, Samr 1, Samr 2 and Samr 3.
According to regional projects tracker MEED Projects, A&M International was appointed main contractor for the Alma cluster in March last year. Alma comprises 299 two- to six-bedroom villas and townhouses.
Local firm Al-Hamad Building Contracting is undertaking construction on Arim 1 and Arim 3. Arim 1 comprises 268 villas and is in the final stages, with completion expected in 2026. Arim 3 comprises 256 villas and is slated for completion in 2027.
China Nuclear Industry 22nd Construction Company is the main contractor for Arim 2, a package comprising 306 villas, due for completion in 2026.
Infrastructure works for the masterplan were completed in 2024, as reported by MEED. The works were undertaken by Sharjah-based Al-Marwan Contracting.
