German conglomerate Siemens has signed a 10-year lease agreement for two buildings in District 2020.
Nearly 11,000 square metres of office space will be provided for 1,000 Siemens and Siemens Energy employees, from August 2021.
The two office buildings will inherit the building technologies installed by Siemens for Expo 2020 Dubai, including the smart sensors from Enlighted, a Siemens IoT solutions provider. The IoT platform acts as ‘sensory systems’ throughout the building, providing real-time data and analytics into how the building is being used.
Siemens will also implement its digital building management system Desigo CC, and its cloud-based energy analytics platform Navigator.

Siemens has now become the first official tenant at Expo 2020's planned legacy development.
The agreement follows Siemens' announcement in 2017 that it would establish its global headquarters for airports, cargo and ports logistics in Dubai.
Siemens is the official Infrastructure Digitalisation Partner for Expo 2020 Dubai, and is implementing its MindSphere solution for the event, which will connect, monitor and control more than 130 buildings at the site.
Dublin-based Accenture and Shanghai's Atlas Capital Holdings have also announced plans to establish office spaces and research hubs in District 2020.
