SURVEY: Technology trends in Middle East construction

10 August 2020
Industry survey on perspectives for projects in the region and the role of technology in shaping the next phase of Middle East construction

Covid-19 is seen as one of the biggest challenges to affect the Middle East engineering and construction (E&C) sector, exacerbating existing issues around cash flow and project delivery.

It does, however, present an opportunity for the industry to rethink the way it manages, finances and delivers its projects. There is a need to do things more efficiently in the post-Covid world, if E&C firms are to remain sustainable.

Digital technologies can provide the solution to many of the challenges facing project companies in the Middle East, from connected jobsites and offsite collaboration, to data capturing and prefabricated elements that save costs.

MEED is conducting a survey to learn more about the presence and impact of digitalisation in the region's construction, infrastructure and oil & gas projects market.

The results of this survey will be published in MEED's upcoming report that looks at the role of technology in shaping the next phase of the Middle East construction landscape.
